Kestrel Montes

She is the creative force behind INKMETHIS, a boutique offering professional calligraphy services and innovative tools for calligraphers, and the founder of LearnCalligraphy.com, an online school connecting students worldwide with leading instructors. Most recently, she took the helm of Ziller’s Studio, established in 1894 and recognized as the oldest independently owned engrossing studio in the United States.

While Kestrel is an accomplished artist in her own right, she is perhaps best known for developing innovative products, educational resources, and professional opportunities that support the broader calligraphy community. Her experience as a working artist, combined with a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, informs her practical and thoughtful approach to teaching and creative entrepreneurship.

Kestrel has earned certification in all six categories offered by IAMPETH (International Association of Master Penmen, Engrossers, and Teachers of Handwriting) and is currently working toward her Master Penman certification. She also serves as an IAMPETH instructor and Board Member and is a member of the Calligraphy Masters Crew.
